About Shepherdwoods Farm

Shepherdwoods Farm is owned by Chris and Alan Greene. Located at 3410 East 2375 Road, Marseilles, IL 61341. It was founded in 1996 when we moved to the country, 65 miles from Chicago, IL. The move "to the boonies" as our son,Timothy, calls it and blames on Mom - "she wanted sheep". We raise Registered Shetland Sheep, 4 cats and one dog - Ramon. Shepherdwods Farm is the name of the farm as well as the name of the business. We sell spinning and weaving equipment, knitting needles, crochet hooks, patterns, raw fleeces, and other products for the handspinner, handweaver, knitter, crocheter, felter and fiber artist. For information on classes in Spinning and Weaving and Knitting please visit our News page.

Our Century Barn

We like to call the barn "our century barn" as it was begun in 1999 and finished in 2000. Built by Alan, Timothy and brother-in-law, Gordon, it houses the sheep and goats. There are separate stalls for the rams, ewes, and ewes with lambs.

Shetland Sheep

Our Shetland Sheep are registered with the North American Shetland Sheepbreeders Association (NASSA) and we are also members of the Midwest Shetland Sheep Breeders Association (MSSBA). I invite you to check out both websites for these organizations on our Links Page.

Shetland Sheep come in alot of variety of colors - 11 Main Whole Colors - and lots of different Markings and Spots.
